2027 Election 'Battle of Titans' Between Tinubu and Atiku - ADC Chieftain

Dele Momodu, chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), declared Monday that the party's flag bearer Atiku Abubakar is President Bola Tinubu's biggest challenger for the 2027 presidential election. Momodu characterized the upcoming contest as a 'battle of the titans' between the two elder statesmen.

Posting on X, Momodu urged the ADC to adapt its political strategies to bridge traditional and modern approaches, suggesting the party should connect veteran politicians with technocrats. He emphasized the need for national reconciliation, re-orientation, and reconstruction amid what he described as 'combustive tensions' and 'absolute chaos' in current politics.

The former presidential candidate noted that while a potential 'third force' might emerge as it did in 2023, it lacks sufficient strength to challenge the two main candidates. Momodu referenced Nigeria's founding fathers and criticized what he called the 'politics of gangsterism' that has become 'unbearably malignant' in the nation.
