The lawmakers announced the endorsement during plenary on Wednesday. Fadeyi who hails from Ibadan, represents Ona Ara State constituency. The Deputy Speaker noted that he and his colleagues have resolved to mobilise the people of the state to support Ogundoyin, who he described as a stabilising force within the legislative arm of government in the state. He added that the Speaker has what it takes to succeed Makinde in 2027. Majority leader, of the House, Sanjo Adedoyin, in his presentation, described the Speaker as a leader who has demonstrated capacity beyond expectations. Other lawmakers at the plenary also supported the move. The lawmakers added that the Speaker’s performance has demonstrated readiness for higher responsibility. They pledged to support his aspiration to succeed Makinde in 2027.
