Access Holdings Plc announces retirement of IT Director Olanrewaju Bamisebi
Access Holdings Plc announced the retirement of its Executive Director, Information Technology and Digitalisation, Olanrewaju Bamisebi, effective September 30, 2026, following the expiry of his term contract. The statement, dated October 9, 2026, was filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited and said the move aligns the company's executive leadership with the Central Bank of Nigeria's Corporate Governance Guidelines for Financial Holding Companies. Those guidelines allow a maximum of two executive directors—the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer and one other, who must be the Chief Financial Officer, subject to CBN approval.
Bamisebi joined Access Holdings in 2022, bringing over 20 years of IT, consultancy, project management and digital transformation experience. Before that he was Managing Director of FinServe Africa (Equity Bank's fintech arm) and Group Director for IT and Operations at Equity Group Holdings. He previously served as Group Chief Information Officer at Diamond Bank Plc. The board thanked him for his dedicated service and contributions to the group's digital growth.
The retirement leaves Access Holdings with one executive director role to fill under the CBN framework. Will the bank appoint a new IT executive director, or restructure its leadership to comply with the guideline while maintaining its digital transformation agenda?
