Award-winning Nollywood actor Bucci Franklin revealed in a candid interview that he had a 'messy' childhood after his father abandoned them, leaving his mother to raise him singlehandedly. The actor shared that he turned to drugs to fill the void left by his absent father figure. 'I was a hot mess as a child. My dad abandoned me. My mom raised me alone, and I turned to drugs,' Franklin said. Despite his struggles, he overcame addiction through his mother's support and credits his current success in life and career to her efforts. The movie star emphasized that children, especially males, need a father figure in their lives, noting that being a single parent is not easy.
