Currently in a severely dilapidated state, the road stretches for 3.5 km. He disclosed that the contract for the project has been awarded to Triacta Nigeria Limited, which is expected to complete the work within 12 months. Speaking further, the Commissioner for Works, Mohammed Suleiman, explained that the Mubi-Gyela Road project has been segmented into phases owing to its deteriorated condition. In a separate development, the Adamawa State Government has commissioned three new waste compactor trucks to enhance refuse collection and improve environmental sanitation. The Commissioner for Environment, Mohammed Sadiq, who led the commissioning ceremony at the Unity Flyover in Jimeta, Yola, explained that the trucks would support government agencies in collecting and transporting waste to the state’s permanent dump site for proper disposal and recycling. He said the compactor trucks have the capacity to carry twice the load of conventional trucks, thereby improving efficiency and reducing fuel costs.
