ADC urges unity ahead of presidential primaries scheduled for Monday amid deepening internal divisions. The party's rival faction led by 2023 presidential candidate Dumebi Kachikwu dissolved the David Mark-led National Working Committee and declared Kachikwu as sole candidate, accusing Mark's leadership of hijacking party structures and abandoning internal democracy.

In a statement by National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi, ADC described the primaries as a "defining democratic moment" for Nigerians seeking credible political alternatives. The party claims to be "the only truly democratic party in Nigeria" due to its open primaries system. Three candidates are cleared to contest: former VP Atiku Abubakar, former Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi, and economist Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.

ADC assured members measures are in place for "free, fair and credible primary process," urging all participants to conduct themselves "peacefully, responsibly and with dignity." The statement emphasized that disagreements are inevitable but the larger objective of rebuilding Nigeria should remain paramount. ADC maintains that regardless of the outcome, the party aims to emerge "stronger, more united and fully prepared to offer Nigerians competent leadership."
