The African Democratic Congress has criticized Nafiu Bala Gombe's request to transfer his lawsuit against the party's National Working Committee, calling it 'suspicious' and 'curious, if not outright laughable.' Party spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi accused Bala of attempting to delay a case he claims to want justice in.

ADC alleges that Bala's request for case reassignment reflects fears that federal government agents are manipulating the judiciary for political reasons. The party claims Bala and his supporters are trying to 'turn the judiciary into a shopping mall where you pick and choose judges suitable for your political schemes.'

The party also questioned why Bala seeks indefinite adjournment despite court rulings calling for speedy hearings. ADC warned such actions damage public trust in the judiciary and pledged continued support for judicial independence, stating 'the rule of law must not be replaced with judicial intimidation or forum shopping.'

This leadership dispute within ADC comes as the party faces internal challenges with parallel congresses in Jigawa and a presidential hopeful Hayatu-Deen already picking nomination forms.
