The African Democratic Congress has described the departure of former presidential candidates Peter Obi and Rabi'u Kwankwaso as a 'glitch', insisting the party has moved forward. National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi stated Wednesday that ADC has 'stabilised and moved forward' despite losing the high-profile politicians to the Nigerian Democratic Congress. The party maintains its objective remains 'stopping the steady deterioration of governance in the country and strengthening multi-party democracy.' While acknowledging some members have left, Abdullahi emphasized 'the broader vision of building a strong opposition coalition is still very much alive within the current political dynamics.' The ADC's position comes as the party faces the 2027 general elections, with other chieftains like Ayuba Umar recently bowing out of Nasarawa governorship contest. How significant is this ADC positioning as Nigeria prepares for multi-party democracy in 2027?
