ADC declares not for sale, confirms 2027 presidential bid after court ruling
Former ADC presidential candidate Dumebi Kachikwu says the party is not for sale and will field a presidential candidate in Nigeria's 2027 general elections. He made the statement Wednesday in Abuja while reacting to a Federal High Court ruling that nullified congresses conducted by the rival David Mark-led faction.
Kachikwu described the nullified conventions as 'kangaroo congresses' and claimed the court decision vindicated his warnings about individuals attempting to hijack the party for selfish interests. He stated those behind the takeover attempt 'have been shown the way out through the same back door they came in.'
This confirms ADC's continued participation in the 2027 election cycle despite internal legal challenges. Voters tracking opposition parties should note the ADC remains active and plans to nominate a candidate for next year's presidential race.
