ADC's National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, told Channels Television's Politics Today on Monday that the party does not trust the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to protect its votes in the 2027 general elections. He cited the 2023 election, when INEC promised automatic transmission of results to the IReV portal but a technical glitch prevented it, leaving many candidates feeling betrayed. Abdullahi said ADC will now vigilantly guard its own votes and make provisions to collate them independently, accepting results only if they reflect the true votes from polling units.

The party's stance reflects broader skepticism about INEC's technical reliability after the 2023 experience, and signals that ADC may deploy its own vote-collation mechanism ahead of the 2027 polls. While INEC has not responded to the comment, the warning highlights the importance of credible result transmission for election acceptance.

What steps do you think INEC should take to restore confidence in its electoral technology, and would you support a party's effort to collate its own votes as a safeguard?
