ADC Slams Wike's 'Declaration of War' Against Anti-Tinubu Candidates

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has condemned Minister Nyesom Wike's reported threat of a 'declaration of war' against candidates opposing President Tinubu ahead of the February 21, 2026 elections. In a statement, the party called the remarks 'irresponsible and dangerous,' especially during Nigeria's economic crisis and insecurity. The ADC vowed to resist any interference with the election, stating threats won't stop Nigerians from voting. 'If Wike, APC and leaders are confident, they should submit to the electorate's verdict,' the party warned, adding it will mobilize institutions to protect the ballot. The ADC insists no political pressure can override voters' choice in the upcoming polls.
