Following the Supreme Court ruling on Thursday that restored the David Mark-led National Working Committee of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), party chieftain Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze declared that the Bola Tinubu administration's time is over. Eze criticized Attorney General of the Federation Lateef Fagbemi and INEC chairman Prof Joash Amupitan, accusing them of undermining democracy and using the judiciary to weaken opposition parties ahead of the 2027 elections.

He said the judgment was a divine intervention after a series of unfavorable rulings against opposition parties, and urged Tinubu to begin drafting his handover notes and prepare to return to Lagos State. Eze emphasized that with the ADC leadership dispute settled, the party will now focus on its role as a major opposition force in the 2027 general elections, aiming to reclaim power from the APC due to what he described as poor governance.

The ruling adds to Nigeria’s body of case law on political party governance and may influence how future internal party disputes are resolved by the courts. Eze urged all ADC members, stakeholders and supporters to unite behind the David Mark-led leadership to reposition the party for greater national significance.

With the ADC’s internal crisis resolved, will opposition parties now be able to present a more united front against the ruling APC in 2027, or will internal challenges persist despite the court’s decision?
