The protest is geared towards demanding the removal of INEC chairman, Joash Amupitan under the #AmupitanMustGo campaign. DAILY POST reports that the planned protests are coming weeks after prominent opposition figures staged a similar ‘Occupy INEC’ protest in Abuja, on April 8, 2026. ADC chieftains that participated in the Abuja protest include former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Rotimi Amaechi, Rauf Aregbesola and Dino Melaye.
