The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco has become the highest-scoring edition ever, with 120 goals already scored. This breaks the previous record of 119 goals set at the 2023 edition in Ivory Coast and surpasses the 102 goals from the 2019 tournament in Egypt, which was the first with 24 teams.

The scoring surge is led by tournament top scorer Brahim Diaz of Morocco with five goals. Nigeria's Victor Osimhen and Egypt's Mohamed Salah are tied just behind with four goals each.

This record comes just before the third-place playoff between Nigeria and Egypt, and the final between hosts Morocco and defending champions Senegal. For fans and players, this historic tournament highlights the attacking quality on display across Africa's top teams.

With the final and bronze medal match pending, will this be remembered as the most exciting AFCON edition yet, setting a new standard for future tournaments?
