Africa Prudential Plc reported a pre-tax profit of N2.41 billion for the first half of 2026, up 21.68% from N1.98 billion in H1 2025. The growth was driven by a 41% rise in revenue from contracts with customers to N742.32 million and a 30.59% jump in interest income to N3.46 billion. For Q2 2026, pre-tax profit rose 27.67% year-on-year to N1.63 billion, while profit after tax climbed 18.10% to N1.59 billion for the half-year and earnings per share reached 40 kobo, up from 33 kobo a year earlier.

The stronger earnings lifted the bank's total assets to N46.52 billion (+11.01%) and more than doubled cash and cash equivalents to N1.11 billion, although total equity slipped 1.65% to N12.52 billion as liabilities grew. The share price closed at N13.20 on 17 July 2026, up 4.3% from the previous close, giving the firm a market capitalisation of N52.8 billion and ranking it 72nd on the NGX.

With interest income and fee-based revenue both expanding, the results show the registrar business is benefitting from higher interest rates and increased corporate-action activity. Investors should consider whether the current valuation reflects this earnings momentum or if further upside is possible given the rise in deposits and liquidity.
