Air Peace leads Africa's airline growth with a 50.6% jump in seat capacity to 360,200 seats in July 2026, according to OAG's July 2026 Africa Aviation Market Update. Continental capacity rose 7.5% year-on-year to 26.3 million seats, international services making up 79% of the market, while domestic capacity jumped 11.1%. IATA reported an 8.9% year-on-year rise in international passenger demand for African airlines in May 2026, with load factors improving to 73.4% despite a 2.2% global dip due to Middle East conflict. Allen Ifechukwu Onyema, founder and CEO of Air Peace, trained as a lawyer at the University of Ibadan before building the airline from a domestic operator in 2013 to West Africa's largest carrier.
