Popular activist and ADC chieftain Aisha Yesufu has vowed to work against any 2027 presidential ticket that features Peter Obi as vice presidential candidate. In a viral video on Tuesday, January 6, Yesufu argued that Obi, former Anambra State governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, deserves the top job and should not accept second position.

"If Peter Obi emerges as a running mate to anyone, I will work against that ticket," Yesufu said in the video. "In my little capacity, I will work against them even if I don't support any other candidates. Why are we always asking the best to be the second?"

Obi recently joined ADC, which opposition leaders have adopted to challenge President Bola Tinubu in 2027. However, indications suggest former Vice President Atiku Abubakar may emerge as the party's flagbearer and potentially pick Obi as running mate—a scenario Yesufu has promised to oppose.

This stance highlights the growing debate within opposition ranks over power-sharing arrangements. Will opposition leaders prioritize unity behind a joint Atiku-Obi ticket, or will internal resistance like Yesufu's force a different approach?
