Akor Adams and Alex Iwobi score winning goals for Venezia and Fulham
Akor Adams netted the 49th-minute winner as Venezia beat former Italian champions Napoli 1-0 on Saturday, securing three points for the Serie A side. Earlier that day, Alex Iwobi struck in the 33rd minute to give Fulham a 1-0 home victory over Hull City, marking the London club’s first Premier League win of the season after six winless league matches. Both goals came in tightly contested matches and proved decisive for their teams.
These performances matter because they showcase Nigerian talent delivering in top European leagues, boosting morale for the Super Eagles ahead of upcoming internationals and giving fans concrete reasons to follow their compatriots’ club careers. Adams’ goal helps Venezia build momentum in Italy’s top flight, while Iwobi’s end to Fulham’s winless run lifts the team to 16th place with five points and provides relief after a disappointing start.
If you track Nigerian players abroad, note Adams’ growing influence at Venezia and Iwobi’s increasing goal threat alongside his creative role at Fulham. Consider how their form might affect national team selection or fantasy league picks. Keeping an eye on their next fixtures—Venezia’s upcoming Serie A clash and Fulham’s next Premier League game—can give you early insight into whether this upward trend continues.
