Akwa United's Coach Paul Offor, midfielder Daniel Gothom, and goalkeeper Aloysius Thankgod received top honors at the NNL/Prostars/Spotlight Hub Monthly Awards ceremony in Abuja on Monday, March 30, 2026. The event, held at West Point Hotel in Wuse Zone 7, celebrated their contributions to the team's dominant Nigeria National League (NNL) season.

Coach Offor was named Best Coach for an unprecedented third consecutive month—December 2025, January 2026, and February 2026—after guiding Akwa United to the summit of Conference B with 32 points from 16 matches. Gothom won Goal of the Month for December 2025, while Thankgod secured Goalkeeper of the Month for January 2026. Their awards followed a 3–1 victory over Ekiti United on Matchday 16.

This recognition arrives as Akwa United eyes promotion back to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). The team must win its final two matches to secure automatic promotion, a goal management and fans are prioritizing after this award-filled period.

Offor credited God, his players, coaching staff, and chairman Joseph Eno for the support that made both the team's success and the Abuja trip possible, noting the awards motivate further effort.

Does this triple award signal Akwa United's readiness for the NPFL return, or is December–February peak performance harder to sustain in the promotion run-in?
