Alert Microfinance Bank received credit rating upgrades from Agusto & Co. and DataPro following strong 2025 financial performance. Agusto & Co. raised the long-term rating to Bbb- from Bb+ with A3 short-term rating and Stable Outlook, citing improved capitalisation and liquidity. DataPro upgraded long-term to A- from BBB+ with A1 short-term rating, Stable Outlook and upward trend, highlighting good liquidity, capitalisation, revenue and asset quality. The bank's total assets grew to ₦28.8 billion in 2025 from ₦12 billion in 2024, while shareholders' funds increased to ₦5.57 billion from ₦1.37 billion. Deposit liabilities rose to ₦15.55 billion from ₦5.94 billion and profit before tax reached ₦384.3 million from ₦199 million. Alert MFB maintained a 25% Basel I capital adequacy ratio (well above the 10% regulatory minimum) and 47.9% liquidity ratio (above the 20% minimum), with ₦3.3 billion in undrawn committed credit lines. Gross loans and advances reached ₦21.4 billion at year-end 2025, with non-performing loan ratio at 4.8% within regulatory benchmarks. These upgrades come as Alert MFB expands after receiving its national microfinance banking license in 2026, operating across more than 20 states with over 40 branches. The bank focuses on providing loans, savings and working capital to individuals and MSMEs through branches and digital channels including Alert Mobile app and Goldbucks savings app. For MSME owners seeking reliable financing partners or individuals considering where to save, does this strengthened financial position make Alert MFB a more attractive option for your business or personal banking needs?
