Amstel Malta has reaffirmed its support for Nigeria’s Super Falcons after their 3‑2 defeat to Malawi in the opening match of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Rabat, Morocco. The brand urged Nigerians to keep backing the team ahead of the crucial Group C clash against Zambia on Saturday, saying the team’s response to the setback will define its campaign more than the opening result.

The statement aligns with Amstel Malta’s recently launched “Be Your Best” campaign, which seeks to mobilise Nigerians in support of the Super Falcons’ quest for a record‑extending 11th continental title while celebrating resilience, excellence and the determination to overcome adversity. Senior Brand Manager Francis Obiajulu noted that the players still have the quality and character to revive their title bid, pointing to past comebacks such as the Super Falcons’ loss to Ghana in 2002 before winning the final, the Super Eagles’ recovery from a 5‑1 opening loss to Algeria in 1990, and Spain’s and Argentina’s World Cup triumphs after opening‑match defeats.

For fans, the message is a reminder to stay united and keep cheering, as sustained support can boost morale and help the Super Falcons bounce back and keep their hopes of reaching the knockout stage alive.
