Andriy Lunin backs Kylian Mbappe to win 2026 Ballon d’Or for Real Madrid
Andriy Lunin, Ukraine’s goalkeeper and Real Madrid teammate of Kylian Mbappe, has said the France captain is the clear choice to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or. Speaking to Madrid Xtra via El Chiringuito TV on October 3, Lunin declared, "Ballon d'Or? For me, it's clear, Kylian Mbappe is the best." Mbappe, who won the Golden Boot as top scorer at the 2026 World Cup, faces strong competition from Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal and Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane for football’s top individual prize.
The endorsement from a fellow Real Madrid player adds weight to Mbappe’s case ahead of the voting, which typically concludes later this year. Football fans watching the race can note that Mbappe’s World Cup performances and club form have kept him in contention, while Yamal’s breakout season and Kane’s goal-scoring consistency keep the outcome uncertain.
Will you consider Mbappe’s chances strong enough to predict his Ballon d’Or win, or do you think Yamal or Kane could overturn the favorite’s position?
