Metro Armed bandits gun down three CPG members in Zamfara Published on February 23, 2026 By Ochogwu Sunday Bandits terrorizing parts of Zamfara State have reportedly killed at least three members of the Civilian Protection Group, CPG in the state. This followed bandits’ raid in Magamin Diddi District of Maradun Local Government Area, Zamfara State. A security expert, Zagazola Makama, who disclosed this in a report on his official X handle on Monday, said the armed bandits also seized rifles belonging to the victims. He said the attack involved a large group of bandits who engaged the CPG members in sporadic gunfire before escaping with their firearms. The deceased, according to the report, were identified as one Nasiru Gaji, Jamilu Ibrahim, and Bashar Dan Inna. The corpses were later transported to General Hospital Maradun for postmortem examination and subsequently released to their families for burial according to Islamic rites.
