ASUU threatens 'action' over non-implementation of December 2025 FGN-ASUU agreement by Federal and state governments. The union's four-day NEC meeting in Yola ended Monday with condemnation of what it calls 'distorted/non-implementation' of the agreement.

Key unresolved issues include withheld three-and-half months' salaries, promotion arrears, salary shortfalls from IPPIS platform, unremitted third-party deductions, and 25-35% wage award arrears. ASUU President Christopher Piwuna warns 'increasing frustration' is brewing 'pent-up anger which could erupt into new industrial unrest' if not addressed.

ASUU appealed to 'genuine patriots and well-meaning Nigerians' to pressure governments to implement the agreement and resolve outstanding issues. The union's doors remain open for collaboration but NEC directed an emergency meeting in 'next few weeks' to review situation and take appropriate action.

What's at stake: Potential nationwide university strikes affecting millions of students and parents. Will you contact your senator or state representative to pressure implementation of the academic staff agreement?
