ATCON: Network Problems Won't Persist This Year
Tony Emoekpere, President of Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria, assures Nigerians that persistent network irregularities affecting telecommunications won't continue this year. During Channels Television interview, Emoekpere confirmed projects and commitments have been put in place by Mobile Network Operators to address the challenges.
The industry is working with Nigerian Communications Commission and Federal Government to improve service quality across Nigeria. Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, has warned telcos must deliver better connectivity and value for money after introducing major sector reforms.
Emoekpere clarified data subscription renewal policy: existing data doesn't expire but gets added to new subscription when renewed. NCC has established consumer complaint mechanisms to address service issues. 'No operator wants to provide poor service,' Emoekpere emphasized, noting all stakeholders are working together to solve these challenges.
With over 200 million mobile users affected, how will improved network connectivity impact your daily work, business operations, or personal communication habits when these changes take effect?
