Former Vice President Abubakar Atiku, through spokesman Phrank Shaibu, alleged President Bola Tinubu is either an absentee leader or an accomplice in controversies surrounding the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). He said this on Tuesday, citing allegations by PFIPC DG Adeniyi Adeyemi that Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila collected a bribe, which Gbajabiamila denies and has countered with a N10 billion defamation suit; Adeyemi's father has been arrested. Atiku claims the government's actions are political gymnastics to shield Gbajabiamila. He also cited page 2236 of the 2026 Appropriation Act, where billions were allocated to the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education for unrelated road projects, calling it budget padding and a pattern of impunity under the APC administration. These allegations raise concerns about corruption, misuse of public funds meant for out-of-school children, and erosion of trust in governance. Citizens should scrutinize budget allocations, demand transparency from the National Assembly, follow updates from credible sources, and engage with representatives to ensure accountability and proper use of taxpayer money.
