Atiku unveils lean ADC campaign structure with El-Rufai, Akobundu in key roles
Atiku Abubakar, ADC's presidential candidate, has approved the composition of the party's National Campaign Council and Presidential Campaign Management Committee, describing it as a lean and strategically structured team responsive to Nigerians' economic hardships. The structure was announced on Thursday, September 24 by Director of Strategic Communication Phrank Shaibu.
Kashim Ibrahim-Imam chairs the National Campaign Council with former Kaduna State Governor and ex-Minister of FCT Nasir El-Rufai serving as Deputy Chairman. Senator Austin Akobundu (Abia Central) serves as Director-General and Campaign Manager overseeing daily operations. Veteran journalist Dele Momodu leads Media and Communications, while Senator Dino Melaye supports national outreach. Mohammed Hayatudeen heads the Policy Team working with Professor Mohammed Sagagi and Aare Aremijoye, with input from former CBN Deputy Governor Kingsley Moghalu. John Oyegun chairs the Campaign Advisory Council assisted by Ben Obi and Lawal Batagarawa as Deputy Chairmen and Eyitayo Jegede as Secretary.
Shaibu stated the structure reflects economic realities, avoiding 'titles, privileges and political patronage' in favor of competence, accountability and measurable results. The campaign will focus on food costs, transportation, energy, unemployment, insecurity and declining purchasing power—key issues affecting Nigerians nationwide.
