Babachir Lawal, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, said he could not work with ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar because he was serving in President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and considers himself 'not a man of divided loyalty.' In an interview with Diaspora Digital Media, Lawal stated that now Buhari’s term has ended and he has returned to Daura, he is open to working with Atiku. He also alleged that the ADC’s 2027 presidential primaries were massively rigged in Atiku’s favor, claiming to have documentary evidence of result rewrites and refusing to be part of a 'rigging machine.' Lawal warned that an Atiku presidency would continue a 'Muslim-Fulani' power monopoly. Atiku’s camp dismissed the claims as personal bitterness, noting the same primary process produced Lawal’s allies for other positions without his prior objection.
