Addressing journalists after the caucus meeting on Tuesday night, the senator representing Bauchi North Senatorial District and Chairman of the Bauchi APC caucus, Sama’ila Dahuwa, declared that members unanimously resolved to reject Mohammed’s proposed admission into the party. He noted that the caucus, after exhaustive deliberations, “unequivocally rejects” the move. According to Senator Dahuwa, “the caucus firmly holds that his (Kwankwaso) admission into the APC at this time will be detrimental to the party’s cohesion, credibility, and electoral prospects in Bauchi State”. Following the leadership crisis that crippled the PDP, Bala Mohammed had signaled a move to defect to either the APC or ADC.
