BOI launches ₦110 bn debt funds for Nigerian tech and creative startups
The Bank of Industry (BOI) has launched two debt‑financing windows under the Federal Government’s Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (iDICE) Programme. The BOI‑iDICE Debt Fund provides ₦45 billion, while the IsDB‑iDICE Debt Fund, backed by the Islamic Development Bank, offers ₦65 billion. Together they make ₦110 billion available to tech and creative startups across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The BOI‑iDICE window offers loans from ₦10 million to ₦1 billion at a maximum interest rate of 10 % per year, with repayment periods of up to five years and a moratorium of up to six months. The IsDB‑iDICE facility follows a Sharia‑compliant Murabaha structure, financing assets such as equipment, technology or creative infrastructure, and is open to all Nigerians regardless of religion.
These facilities address the chronic shortage of patient, affordable capital for early‑stage enterprises, complementing iDICE’s equity and quasi‑equity funds. Interested startups should review eligibility on the iDICE portal (idice.ng) and submit applications through idice.boi.ng. For enquiries, contact BOI’s customer care at 0700 225 5264 or customercare@boi.ng.
