Metro Boko Haram releases video of abducted Borno residents Published on April 10, 2026 By Vanessa Onah A Boko Haram group known as Jama’atu Ahlis-Sunna Lidda’Awati Wal-Jihad (JAS) has released a video showing 416 abducted residents of Ngoshe, a community in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, claiming the captives are alive, healthy and not being mistreated. According to a video obtained and cited by DAILY POST, the terrorists displayed the victims, mostly women and children, along with a few men while speaking with them during the recording. In the six-minute, a member of the group said “the footage was produced at the request of the Borno South Youths Alliance (BOSYA), which he claimed has been serving as a mediator since the abduction.” The group also reiterated that the victims were safe in their custody. Meanwhile, BOSYA confirmed that 416 people were abducted and appealed to the Nigerian government, international partners and global leaders to support urgent efforts to secure their safe return. The attack on Ngoshe community occurred on March 4, when insurgents reportedly stormed the area and took hundreds of residents hostage.
