Breaking: President Tinubu declared Nigeria has entered an 'age of prosperity' after three years of economic reforms, speaking at the 66th Independence Day anniversary on October 1, 2026. He stated emergency treatment is over, foundation repaired, with focus now on shared prosperity through lowering costs and creating jobs.

Tinubu cited 2026 growth exceeding 4%, substantial inflation decline, rebuilt foreign reserves, stabilized forex, and record $6 billion non-oil export revenue in 2025. He acknowledged ongoing hardship for millions but said govt priority is reducing cost of living by lowering production and transport costs via mechanised farming, improved seeds/fertiliser access, agricultural mechanisation, and storage/transport investment.

For job creation, he highlighted gas-powered industrialization, factory revival support, digital connectivity expansion, skills development, and financing through Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation for vehicles/solar/digital assets. The Nigerian Education Loan Fund will assist low-income students, while the National Social Register will be strengthened to target poverty aid.

With fuel at current prices and transportation costs high, will these specific mechanisms—agricultural investments, credit access, and education loans—translate to tangible relief for your household expenses and opportunities?
