BUA Chairman Rabiu Pledges $500k to Super Eagles for AFCON Semi-Final Win
BUA Group Chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu has pledged $500,000 to Nigeria's Super Eagles if they defeat hosts Morocco in their AFCON 2025 semi-final clash on Wednesday. In a statement posted to his social media accounts shortly after Nigeria's quarter-final victory over Algeria, Rabiu also promised an additional $50,000 for every goal scored in that match.
Should the Super Eagles advance to the final and win the championship, Rabiu pledged a $1 million reward, plus $100,000 for every goal scored in the title decider. The pledges follow Nigeria's impressive quarter-final performance in Marrakesh, where they secured their place in the last four with a disciplined display against Algeria.
The financial incentives come as the team enters the tournament's decisive stages, with public enthusiasm and private-sector backing building around the squad's title ambitions. Morocco, as hosts, will present a formidable challenge in the semi-finals.
