Bujeti rolls out AI finance teammates BRAIN, launching Sept 30
Bujeti is launching its AI workforce BRAIN on September 30, making four AI agents—Fetch, Chaser, Watchdog, and Concierge—available to automate routine finance tasks like document processing, chasing unpaid invoices, monitoring transactions, and answering internal finance questions. The agents work directly with the accounts, budgets, vendors, contracts, and transactions already stored in Bujeti’s platform, handing off low‑confidence extracts to humans and requiring a named person to approve any irreversible action such as moving money.
Why does this matter? Bujeti says the tool lets any African business run its finances with a virtual CFO, even if they can’t afford to hire one. With 82% of African firms still only piloting AI, BRAIN aims to move companies past experimentation into daily use, tapping into a market of over 1,000 teams already using Bujeti in Nigeria and Kenya and the millions of MSMEs across the region.
What should you know? The system does not rely on a single AI model; it routes tasks to the best model via an orchestration layer. Bujeti also plans to let external AI assistants like ChatGPT and Claude query Bujeti data through a forthcoming MCP connector, while keeping existing permissions intact. Competitors include local players Flex, Duplo, Karty and global ones Ramp, Brex, Bill. The company targets mid‑market and enterprise firms with more than 20 employees and complex financial operations, and eyes Francophone Africa next, citing the WAEMU’s 248 million mobile‑money accounts as a sign of growing connected finance infrastructure.
