Burna Boy to perform at historic FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Halftime Show alongside Justin Bieber and global stars
Justin Bieber joins Madonna, Shakira and BTS as co-headliners for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Halftime Show on July 19, 2026 at New York New Jersey Stadium. Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy will also perform, marking one of the leading African appearances at a World Cup final entertainment event. The 11-minute show, curated by Coldplay's Chris Martin, represents the first Super Bowl-style halftime performance in World Cup final history. Burna Boy described his participation as both honor and responsibility to represent Africa on the global stage while promoting unity and hope through music. The halftime show doubles as fundraising platform for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, aiming to raise USD 100 million for children's education worldwide. Over USD 50 million has been raised so far. FIFA confirmed USD 1 from every World Cup 2026 ticket sold will support education-focused social projects globally. Sesame Street and Muppets characters will add family-friendly elements to reinforce the education message. The production partners include Global Citizen, Live Nation and Done + Dusted. This follows Burna Boy's continued global chart success with 'Dai Dai' featuring Shakira, maintaining Nigerian representation in international music spaces after previous Grammy wins.
