CAF confirms 2026 Awards for Lagos on December 7 at Wole Soyinka Centre

CAF confirms the 2026 African Football Awards will take place in Lagos on Monday, December 7 at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts (formerly National Theatre) in Iganmu. This marks the fourth time Lagos hosts the prestigious ceremony, having previously done so in 2008, 2013 and 2014.

The event will gather top players, coaches and administrators from across Africa to celebrate continental football excellence. Lagos last hosted in 2014, making this a significant return after a 12-year gap. The Awards ceremony follows Nigeria hosting the CAF Ordinary General Assembly on Saturday, November 21 at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.

For football fans, this means two major CAF events in Nigeria within weeks - the General Assembly in Abuja on Nov 21 and the glamorous Awards in Lagos on Dec 7. While ticket details aren't yet announced, the venues are now confirmed: BTICC for the assembly and Wole Soyinka Centre for the Awards.

Will you make plans to attend either event in person, or follow the celebrations through broadcast and social media as Africa's football stars gather in Nigeria?
