Cally Air is set to take delivery of a new CRJ aircraft with registration 5N-CRF this September, marking the latest step in its phased fleet expansion programme expected to run into early 2027. The jet will join the airline's current three-aircraft fleet, adding capacity and greater schedule flexibility across its domestic network.

The expansion comes as demand for air travel within Nigeria continues to strain existing capacity on key routes. Officials say the extra aircraft will allow Cally Air to increase flight frequencies where needed, support trade, tourism and investment, and provide a platform for future growth—including possible routes within West Africa. Cross River State Commissioner for Aviation Captain Inah Eno Utum noted that improved air connectivity can boost movement between communities.

ValueJet, which manages Cally Air's flight operations, will oversee the aircraft induction and integration. Managing Director Captain Omololu Majekodunmi stressed the phased approach ensures each aircraft is safely and efficiently introduced before the next arrives, maintaining safety standards throughout.

Travelers can expect more flight options and improved schedule reliability on domestic routes as the new aircraft enters service. Registration 5N-CRF is slated for delivery this September, with further additions planned as part of the airline's long-term growth strategy.
