CANurges Nigeria's leaders and citizens to find lasting solutions to the country's challenges
As Christians observe Ash Wednesday, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has called on leaders and citizens to pause and reflect on Nigeria's direction. The apex Christian body noted the country faces rising living costs, uncertain job opportunities, and economic pressures. Security concerns in several regions continue to affect communities and erode citizen confidence. CAN President Archbishop Daniel Okoh stressed that Nigeria lacks not policies but effective implementation, urging leaders to ensure government programmes reach intended households fairly and transparently. The association also called for inclusive decision-making that respects Nigeria's diversity, rejecting division and false information. Citizens are encouraged to channel energy into innovation and responsible public participation. CAN emphasized that Nigeria's progress depends on collective commitment to justice, compassion, and responsible citizenship.
