The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has issued a major update on recruitment procedures, advising applicants to ignore unofficial directives regarding dress code and document requirements ahead of medical screening. The announcement, made Friday by Head of Press Okeh Juliet, confirms that medical screening begins Sunday, June 22, 2026, for candidates applying to Nigeria Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

The Board explicitly states there is no prescribed dress code for the medical screening exercise. Applicants have been advised to simply appear in normal and decent attire. Importantly, no document verification will be conducted during this phase, and candidates are warned against bringing credentials to screening venues.

"Any information directing candidates to wear a particular dress code or bring their credentials should be disregarded, as such directives did not emanate from the Board," the statement clarified. This follows reports of circulating fake instructions targeting recruitment hopefuls.

The clarification directly affects thousands of applicants preparing for the next recruitment stage. With the screening starting in two days, candidates can now focus solely on medical fitness requirements rather than uncertain dress codes or documentation.

If you're preparing for the medical screening, stick to simple decent clothing and bring only identification documents required for entry. Ignore social media messages demanding specific attire or credentials - they're not from official sources.
