Chams pivots to AI and data centers with new subsidiary

Chams Holding Plc has created ChamsCorp Plc to enter AI infrastructure and data center development, moving beyond its legacy payments business. The new subsidiary will handle digital device manufacturing, data center design, AI infrastructure, and intelligent systems. Led by Olufemi Oyenuga since February 1, 2026, ChamsCorp aims to position Chams as a foundational player in Nigeria's digital economy. The Nigerian data center market is projected to reach $782.82 million by 2031. Chams operates five subsidiaries including Card Centre Nigeria Limited and Chams Access Limited. Details on operational strategy and investment scope remain undisclosed.
