Chelsea beat Man Utd 2-0 as Alonso's half-time tweak sparks top-four climb

Chelsea bounced back from their Carabao Cup exit to Liverpool with a 2-0 Premier League win over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Goals from Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer secured three points that lift the Blues into the top four.

The first half was tight with few chances for either side. At half-time, Alonso told his players to keep control and keep the ball, confident they'd win if they did. The adjustment worked—Chelsea dominated the second half and converted their chances.

The win is a timely response after the midweek cup disappointment. Chelsea now sit in the Champions League places with momentum building. Next up is a league trip to Sunderland, where Alonso will expect his side to maintain this control-based approach.

For Nigerian fans tracking the title race and top-four battle, Chelsea's resilience under Alonso is becoming a storyline. Can they sustain this consistency against mid-table sides away from home?
