Chelsea FC has sacked head coach Liam Rosenior after just 107 days in charge, following a disastrous run of poor results. The club announced the decision on Wednesday, stating performances had "fallen below the necessary standards."

Rosenior's tenure quickly turned sour after a promising start. The team lost six straight matches in all competitions, scoring no goals and conceding 14. Their five consecutive Premier League defeats without scoring represents their worst run since 1912. The only bright spot was a 7-0 FA Cup win over Port Vale.

Chelsea currently sits seventh in the Premier League with 48 points from 34 matches, putting them at serious risk of missing out on European football next season. Assistant coach Calum McFarlane will take over as interim head coach until the end of the season as the club seeks to secure European qualification and progress in the FA Cup.

The club has confirmed it will now begin searching for a long-term solution to address their ongoing struggles on the pitch.
