News Christian Media Forum decries Plateau killings, tasks security agencies to redouble efforts, track perpetrators Published on April 1, 2026 By Amos Tauna The Christian Media Forum (CMF) has condemned in strong terms the recent attack in the Rukuba area of Jos, describing the incident as barbaric, senseless, and a direct affront to the peace and unity of the nation. A statement jointly signed by its National President, Okpani Jaccb Onjewu Dickson, and its National Secretary, Andrew Ibrahim Mshelia, the forum expressed deep sorrow and outrage over the tragic loss of innocent lives. The statement noted that such acts of violence must never be tolerated in any civilized society, stressing that evil must not be allowed to prevail over good under any circumstances. According to the forum, “The continued occurrence of such attacks raises serious concerns about the safety and security of citizens, particularly in vulnerable communities across the country.” The forum called on security agencies to redouble their efforts in addressing the growing insecurity, urging them to act swiftly and decisively to prevent further bloodshed. It further emphasized the need for intelligence-driven operations and proactive strategies to identify and dismantle criminal networks responsible for these heinous acts. It also urged law enforcement agencies to ensure that all perpetrators of the attack are brought to justice without delay, stressing that justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done in order to restore public confidence in the nation’s security architecture. Describing the attack as a sad reminder, the forum noted that more still needs to be done in the area of protecting lives and property across Nigeria and called on both federal and state authorities to prioritize the safety of citizens above all, as the primary responsibility of government is to safeguard lives. The forum expressed solidarity with the victims and their families, acknowledging the deep pain and trauma caused by the unfortunate incident, pointing out that the entire nation shares in the grief of those affected and stands united with them during this difficult and trying period. It further prayed for quick healing and recovery for those who sustained injuries during the attack, while reaffirming the commitment of the forum to continue speaking as the voice of the people, especially on issues affecting justice, peace, and national unity. The forum urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in prayer for the nation, expressing hope that through unity, faith, and decisive action, Nigeria will overcome its current challenges and emerge stronger.
