Codar raises $1.5M to expand AI and tech training across Africa
Codar has secured a $1.5 million funding mix of equity and debt from KWE4 Africa Venture Studio to scale its technology education across Africa. The company already serves over 5,000 active learners and has impacted more than 70,000 students through programs in artificial intelligence, software development, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data analytics and other digital skills. With the new capital, Codar plans to improve its online learning platform, open additional learning hubs, and expand scholarship opportunities for underserved communities. Founded by Sokefun David, Williams Olusegun, Oduoye John and Asaolu Emmanuel, Codar emphasizes hands‑on, project‑based learning that builds real‑world portfolios and connects learners to global tech opportunities. It is also strengthening mentorship programs, deepening industry partnerships, creating clearer career pathways to global tech jobs, and introducing multilingual content with internationally recognized certification tracks. The initiative aims to help close Africa’s growing digital skills gap while making world‑class tech training more accessible and affordable.
