Dangote Named Africa's Most Admired Brand 8th Year Running
Dangote Industries Limited has clinched the title of Africa's Most Admired Brand for the eighth consecutive year at the 16th Brand Africa 100 Awards ceremony in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The comprehensive survey covering 30 countries (85% of Africa's population and economic output) ranked Dangote as the most admired brand in aided recall, ahead of South African giants MTN and Vodacom.
The conglomerate also received additional honors including Most Admired African Brand Doing Good for Society and the Environment, Most Admired African Industrial Brand, and was ranked No. 1 African Brand Contributing to a Better Africa. Group Chief Branding Officer Anthony Chiejina was also selected for the inaugural Africa CMO 100 list of most impactful marketing leaders.
Despite global brands dominating Africa's Top 100 rankings (85% are foreign), Dangote has cemented its position among Africa's leading corporate brands alongside MTN and Ethiopian Airlines. With African brands representing only 15% of the continent's most admired brands, does Dangote's success signal a turning point for indigenous African enterprises?
