Dangote Refinery extends fuel delivery to four states targeting lower pump prices
Dangote Refinery extends free petroleum product delivery to Kano, Imo, Anambra and Nasarawa, adding to earlier service in Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, Kaduna, Abuja and Delta. By absorbing delivery costs, the refinery aims to cut distribution expenses for independent marketers and create room for lower pump prices nationwide.
IPMAN’s Chinedu Ukadike says the move eases the financial hold‑up where marketers pay for products but wait days or weeks for loading, improving cash flow and letting businesses deploy capital more efficiently. He adds that reduced haulage costs will translate to cheaper fuel for consumers, noting that the more Dangote lowers its price, the more independent marketers will follow.
With a 700,000‑barrel‑per‑day capacity, Dangote is boosting domestic supply while shortening the supply chain and cutting operational risks linked to long‑distance haulage. Marketers in the four new states now receive products at their doorstep, reducing tied‑up funds and logistics hazards.
