Dimension Data Limited has completed the signing ceremony for the first tranche of its N20 billion bond programme, issuing N4.05 billion (about US$2.9 million) in Series 1 corporate bonds. The proceeds will fund the expansion of the company's fibre optic network to meet rising demand for digital connectivity from financial institutions, fintechs, enterprise customers and other technology-driven sectors across Nigeria.

This development matters because it signals sustained investor appetite for long-term corporate debt in Nigeria's technology and infrastructure sectors, even amid high interest rates that have pushed many investors toward shorter-tenor instruments. The funds will strengthen the country's digital backbone, supporting cloud adoption, digital financial services and data-intensive applications that are key to business growth and innovation.

With N15.95 billion still available under the programme, Dimension Data can return to the market for additional tranches as it scales its fibre footprint. High-net-worth investors showed strong confidence in the company's long-term prospects, according to Pathway Advisors. For businesses and investors, this move highlights growing opportunities to participate in Nigeria's digital infrastructure expansion - whether through partnerships, service adoption, or future bond offerings.
