News Easter: FRSC deploys 500 personnel, 200 Special Marshalls against accident in Abia Published on April 3, 2026 By Daniel Chibuike The Abia State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has deployed 500 officers and men, as well as 200 Special Marshals to highways, strategic locations and special corridors in Abia State, to ensure accident-free Easter period. The Sector Commander of FRSC in Abia State, Ngozi Ezeoma who said this in a statement, said that patrol vehicles and ambulance services would be deployed for emergency response. Ezeoma who said that Easter period is characterized by increased vehicular movements, noted that the period witnesses high risks of road crashes, if not properly managed. She warned drivers in Abia State against dangerous overtaking, overloading, mixed loading, drunk- driving or use of expired tyres. The FRSC Sector Commander said that her Command would maintain a 24-hour surveillance and patrol presence in collaboration with other security agencies. She further advised the leaders of transport unions in Abia to sensitise drivers about regular maintenance of their vehicles, so that the lives of the drivers and their passengers would not be endangered.
