According to the Vice Principal, Mrs. Adeola Borogun, several students began vomiting and fainting, forcing the school management to call for ambulances. Reacting to the incident, Governor Dapo Abiodun ordered the immediate closure and full investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident. The OGEPA boss, further proceeded to the State Hospital in Ijebu-Ode, where some students affected by the suspected chemical leak are currently receiving medical treatment. The State government, through OGEPA, reassured residents and school authorities that investigations were ongoing and that necessary measures would be taken to safeguard public health and prevent a recurrence of such incident.
