Enyimba boosted by return of Ezra, Godswill for crucial NPFL clash with Plateau United
Enyimba FC receive a boost ahead of their NPFL Matchday 6 clash with Plateau United as defender Joel Ezra and goalkeeper Utum Godswill return from injury and illness respectively. Ezra, who made 27 appearances last season, recovers from an undisclosed illness, while Godswill returns after a three-week layoff. Both will be available for selection when Enyimba hosts Plateau United at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba this Sunday.
The timing is crucial for the nine-time NPFL champions, who finally opened their season account with a dominant 4-2 victory over Shooting Stars in midweek. Despite that win, Enyimba currently sit 19th on the log with just four points from six matches, urgently needing to accumulate points to distance themselves from relegation concerns.
Ezra's versatility provides defensive options that could prove vital against Plateau United, while Godswill's experience between the posts adds stability to a goalkeeping position depleted by his absence. Will their return ignite Enyimba's push up the table, or does Plateau United present too formidable a challenge for the struggling giants?
